Chaos in the Basement

Swan Basement
Saturday 28th August

Chaos Engine headlined for the second week in a row in Fremantle.

The TAMA kit did indeed rock. It was a solid performance. The acoustic drums meant that we didn't have any of those interesting samples - so we did an improvisation as the last song instead of "tales of an Indian Forest",

...A bit low on numbers at the basement. :(
 Thanks for the photos Janine!

20th August 2010 - Chaos Engine Off the Rails

The Railway Hotel - Tydeman Street North Fremantle

This is a great venue - large stage and an awesome sound system. Loud enough without being deafening and really well mixed. Check it out.

If you haven't heard Chaos Engine yet, have a look at some of our previous live work at the Rosemount at

23-Jul-2010 - Rosemount Hotel - Emergenza Festival

Video from the Emergenza gig at the Rosemount

Chaos Engine hit the stage shortly after 11. All bands were required to use the Marshall guitar and bass amps, and Pearl drums provided. Pranjal drove the gig with the acoustic kit - sounding more powerful and dynamic than with the Roland V-drums. A stellar performance by Dr B.We'll be incorporating acoustic drums in Chaos Engine soon... The Marshall guitar and bass amps on the other hand were a downgrade from Chaos Engine's normal tone but the performance was good and everyone dug it. The band is sounding really good now; inventive, flowing and tight.

Railway Hotel Fremantle

We had a great time playing at the Railway on a very wet and cold Friday night. The railway has an awesome PA and the guy mixing did a fantastic job - this was inspiring. It was also really cool to be playing on a decent stage. Our audience was small, but they were definitely paying attention, and really made us feel like they liked what they heard - thanks very much!

Chaos in the Den

So eloquently put by Ian Gillan in that song on Fireball - "no one came from miles around and said man your music is really hot". Thanks so much to those who did turn up; we had a blast and apparently the band played really well.

Dawn of Chaos - Gignition

The Gignition event was just the second public gig for Chaos Engine. We opened the show, had a great time and Paul (Pax) Andrews joined us on saxophone for the track "Tales of an Indian Forest". That song usually surprises people a bit; most of our other songs are aggressive instrumental rock, but Indian Forest is more like world music - slower paced and Pranjal beats out Indian rhythms on the V-drums playing tabla samples.

Sebastian D'Alonzo from Drum Media had this to say:
